Where do the Falcons Practice?
We practice at Crescenta Valley High School in La Crescenta (on Ramsdell Ave. between Encinal Ave and Altura Ave.)
When and Where are the Track Meets?
The first track meet of the 2012 Season is on March 24th. The meets are mostly on Saturdays, though there are some meets on Sundays as well. The meets are held at a variety of High Schools and Colleges around the San Fernando Valley. We post links with driving directions on this site. Keep and eye on the Calendar link at the top of this page to see important upcoming dates for the season.
How Long do the Meets last?
Track Meets are a bigger commitment on time than practices as they are generally all day events, starting around 8:30 am and lasting as late as 3:00 p.m. (although our goal is to have the meets wrapped up by 1:30 or so).
What is expected of our Parents?
We are a volunteer run organization; every activity on and off the field is done by parent-volunteers. We hope that you will find volunteering as fun and rewarding as your child finds track. The Los Angeles Falcons is a unique organization of parents and youth committed to friendly competition and service!
How long does the season last?
As mentioned above, the first official meet this year will be held March 24th. The regular season ends with the Individual Event Championships (or I.E.C.) meet which will be held on May 19th. For those families interested in continuing, there is a “Post Season” that starts after the I.E.C. meet. You will hear more information about Post Season later this year.
